Registration Open for HCCs Kids in College Can Soar

Registration is now open for HCCsKids in College Can Soar (KICCS) program. This week-long summer camp, designed for students who will be in grades one through six this fall, is created to explore academic topics in a dynamic setting. Since KICCS inception in 1991, more than 4,000 students have attended the summer program at HCC.

Each KICCS class is carefully customized for the appropriate grade level and features hands-on activities and active teaching techniques in an effort to make learning fun. KICCS participants are treated like real college students - complete with freshman orientation, personalized class schedules, and graduation.

HCC will host five weeks of KICCS this summer four weeks in Hopkinsville and one week in Cadiz. The dates are June 7-11, June 14-18, July 12-16, and July 19-2 at the Hopkinsville campus and the week of June 21-25 at Trigg County Middle School in Cadiz. Classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily.

Students may register for just one week of KICCS or choose to enroll in as many weeks as the program is offered. A registration fee of $79 per week covers all class materials, snacks and a t-shirt. To register, students must complete 1) the KICCS registration form on the program announcement; 2) complete the insurance form; 3) submit a copy of a proof of insurance card; and 4) submit the registration form, insurance form, and copy of insurance card with $79 for each student to the Workforce Solutions office at HCC. There are a limited number of scholarships available.Scholarship applications and requirements; all registration forms; and program announcements with class descriptions are available on line and at the colleges Workforce Solutions office in the Auditorium Building, room 13.
