Lifelong Leadership Program Begins In September

Hopkinsville Community College, Hopkinsville-Christian County Community Vision Plan and Hopkinsville-Christian County Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the 2010-2011 Lifelong Leadership Program (LLP). The LLP is a series of ten half-day workshops designed to develop skills, tools and resources necessary to build visionary leadership.

The Lifelong Leadership Program focuses on tangible skill development and examines the issues of leading and managing relationships and change. Course topics include: Vision casting and Action Planning, Performance Expectations, Building Team Pride and Purpose, Developing Effective Employees, Building Trust Under Pressure, Hiring and Retaining Exceptional Talent, A Culture of Success, Personal Strategies for Navigating Change, Dazzling Your Customers and Expanding Customer Relationships.

The LLP classes will be taught by a distinguished group of local professionals that includes HCC President / CEO Dr. Jim Selbe, Continental Mills HR Manager Sherry Howell, Western State Hospital Director Steven Wiggins, U.S. Army Veteran David Martino and HCC External Education Program Director Tammie Van Buren.

Courses are available one Thursday morning per month from September 16, 2010 through June 16, 2011. The fee for each session is $135. Participants that register for all ten courses by September 13 will qualify for a 33 percent discount, reducing the fee to $899.
