Inauguration of Dr. Jay Allen, 5th President of HCC to be Held April 28
Hopkinsville Community College will hold the presidential inauguration of the college's 5th president, Dr. Jay S. Allen, on Monday, April 28 at 3 p.m. in the Auditorium Lecture Hall, followed by a 4 p.m. reception in the gallery area. The event is open to the public.
KCTCS President Michael B. McCall announced the appointment of Jay S. Allen, Ph.D.
in November 2013. Dr. Allen assumed his presidential post in January 2014.
Prior to joining HCC, Dr. Allen served as vice president of the Perkinston Campus
and George County Center of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College system since
2011. He has 18 years of experience as a community college administrator.
Dr. Allen is a community college graduate who earned an associate degree from Hinds
Community College and went on to hold the position of Dean of Enrollment Services
at his alma mater. He received his doctorate from the Department of Educational Leadership
at the University of Mississippi, and both a masters degree in counselor education
and student development and a bachelors degree in horticulture from Mississippi State
University. He completed the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy and
the Education Policy Fellowship Program through the Stennis Institute of Government
at Mississippi State University.

College, said Allen. I look forward to providing leadership for such a quality institution.
