FALL 2010 ENROLLMENT IS ALL-TIME RECORD FOR HCC

Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) has experienced its seventh consecutive enrollment increase and set a new all-time enrollment record for the college. HCCs enrollment is up 3 percent compared with the same time last year. The college has a headcount of 3,867 students taking classes in the current term from August to December, compared with 3,755 enrolled in fall 2009.

HCCs enrollment has been on a steady climb over the last several terms. We were up over 27 percent this summer; over 14 percent this spring; and another 16 percent in fall 2009, said HCC President Dr. Jim Selbe.

HCC is taking numerous actions to accommodate its rapidly growing population. More online courses are being offered, and additional full-time faculty and adjuncts instructors have been hired.

Our faculty and staff are working hard to ensure that all of the students needs are getting met, explained President Selbe. We have learned to be very efficient with both time and resources. HCC, along with our sister KCTCS institutions, are operating on less state appropriation dollars than we were 5 years ago.
