DR. PAT LAKE APPOINTED INTERIM PRESIDENT AT HOPKINSVILLE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Michael B. McCall announced today the appointment of Dr. Pat Lake as interim president of Hopkinsville Community College (HCC); his administrative duties are set to begin March 6, 2013.

Dr. Lake has a long history with KCTCS and has held leadership roles at several colleges within the system. He served as president of Henderson Community College for 25 years before retiring from the position in December 2010. During his tenure Dr. Lake saw enrollment more than double. He helped establish course offerings and training programs and oversaw three major campus construction projects. Dr. Lake remained connected to Henderson Community College and assisted the college with its reaccreditation process. He continued to work with KCTCS on several special projects following his departure. Recently Dr. Lake served as interim president at Ashland Community and Technical College from July 1- August 31, 2012. Earlier in his career Dr. Lake served as interim president of the former Owensboro Community College and dean of academic affairs for the former Jefferson Community College.

I am confident Dr. Lake will provide excellent leadership during this time of transition for Hopkinsville Community College, said Dr. McCall. His record of experience and success within KCTCS will be an asset for the college as we begin the search process for the next president. I hope the Hopkinsville community will join me in welcoming him to HCC.
