Fall Classes Update

Dear HCC Student,

I know that the past two months have been filled with more uncertainty than you ever expected.

With the many health and safety unknowns due to COVID-19, the “Real World” has changed. I wanted you to know and be assured that your college has changed, too, to better meet your needs.

We have been and continue to develop flexible learning options to ensure that you meet your education goals during this time. Our college teams also are developing plans to meet social distancing and health requirements for you in class when it is safe to return to the college’s campuses.  We are strengthening virtual student support for those online and remote classes as well.

Just as a reminder, summer I classes begin on May 26 and are available in an online-only format at HCC. A few hands-on classes are tentatively scheduled for the summer II term that begins July 6, but could change based on Governor Beshear’s timelines for facility use. If you have not done so, now is a good time to register for summer courses with your advisor or through your PeopleSoft account. You can see the classes that will be offered here. Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell students can currently enroll in summer classes. Fall classes at the Hopkinsville campus are also currently open for registration. Fort Campbell’s fall registration schedule will open later this summer.

Beginning August 17, fall term classes will be offered in a variety of formats. There will be fully online classes as well as face-to-face classes and some options that are a hybrid mixture of both (barring any disruption from pandemic response). Face-to-face classes will have a strong online or remote instruction part, so if in-person classes must move online for a while you will be ready. There is also a variety of scheduling options, including 16-week, and 8-week sessions so you can take classes when it fits your schedule.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please visit our virtual resources page that has email and phones where staff can assist you as they work remotely.

We are all facing a challenging new Real World. You are not alone. HCC is offering flexible options to face it with you.

All the best to you this week as you take final exams and complete the Spring 2020 semester!
