What is a Proctored Exam?

A proctored exam is one that is overseen by an impartial individual (called a proctor) who monitors or supervises a student while he or she is taking an exam. The proctor ensures the security and integrity of the exam process.

Below, you will find a number of tips to ensure you are provided the best possible environment to successfully complete your exam:

Please be aware of a student's responsibilities for scheduling a proctored exam.
Schedule an appointment at least one week in advance of the exam date.
If you are not near Hopkinsville, you can schedule an exam at a different KCTCS college.
It is the student's responsibility to contact the instructor to ensure that the test, password and all instructions are sent to the test proctor.
Upon arriving at the proctor site, present a picture ID (such as a student ID or current driver's license) for identification; otherwise, you will not be permitted to take the exam.
It is the student's responsibility to bring all materials necessary to complete the exam, provided they meet with the instructor's guidelines.
Inform the Testing Center in advance of any changes that might affect your scheduled testing time and date.
There are no costs associated with proctored exams for HCC/KCTCS courses; there is a fee associated with proctoring exams for other colleges and universities.
