Noncredit Online Classes

Acquire valuable new skills from the comfort and convenience of your home or office with expert instructors guiding the way!  Through partnerships with Education to Go and UGotClass, the college offers more than 200 instructor-facilitated noncredit courses online.  New sections of each class start as often as every month.  Visit ed2go.com/hopkinsville to find complete course descriptions, instructor biographies and easy-to-follow registration instructions.  For questions or assistance with Ed2Go classes, contact Carrie McGinnis.

Professional Licensure and CEUs

Earn the Continuing Education Units (CEUs) you need to keep your professional license active.  HCC offers continuing education classes each month for many professionals including nurses, plumbers, and HVAC technicians.  For dates and details, see our noncredit course catalog or contact Carrie McGinnis.

Workforce Training Class Schedule

To remain competitive in today's workplace, you must keep your skills sharp and look for ways to improve your knowledge every day.  HCC offers a variety of career or job-related short courses to help you keep in step.  These noncredit courses are open to everyone in our community.  You do not need to have a degree or be enrolled in college to attend.  Classes vary in length from one day to six weeks with registration fees starting at $29.  For a complete list of scheduled classes, see our noncredit course catalog.

Youth Workforce Connections

The Youth Workforce Connections (YWC) program is funded by a federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grant administered through the Pennyrile Area Development District (PADD) office. The YWC collaborates with the Adult Education Learning Center to offer GED assistance, career guidance and training, academic counseling, and employment services to area youths between the ages of 16 and 21 who are economically disadvantaged and face barriers to appropriate employment.  The YWC sets up training programs that prepare participants for skilled jobs that are available in our community. Additionally, work experience and paid internship programs are available to assist youths in obtaining high-paying, skilled positions in the career of their choice.  Funding through a WIA grant enables the YWC to pay these youths the prevailing wage for their position during the training period at a new job related to their career training. Therefore, the employer does not have to pay the new employee during this training period, providing the employer with an opportunity to assess the skills and abilities of the youth before deciding to put him or her on the payroll. Additionally, these youths are closely monitored, and the Youth Workforce Connections office serves as a resource for both the youth and the employer during this time.  These services are available free of charge.  Interested youths and area businesses are encouraged to contact Julie-Anna Carlisle to learn more about how they can benefit from the program.
